Frequently asked.

A few of the questions we hear most often from families considering estate planning for the first time.

Oregon generally requires an estate-tax return when an Oregon resident’s gross estate is $1 million or more and includes property taxable by Oregon. Oregon’s statutory table uses graduated rates from 10% to 16%, but deductions, credits, ownership, residency, and the type and location of property affect whether tax is due and how it is calculated. The threshold should be reviewed as part of an individualized estate analysis.

A Revocable Living Trust does three things a Will alone cannot: it avoids probate, keeps your affairs private, and lets a trustee step in seamlessly if you become incapacitated. For most Oregon families with a home or meaningful assets, it’s the centerpiece of the plan.

Not every family needs a Trust. We’ll talk through your situation, your assets, and your goals, and recommend the simplest plan that does what you actually need.

A space to sit with what matters most. You’ll be heard in plain English, walked through the Oregon options that fit your family, and leave with a clear sense of the path forward.

The fee is $250, a flat fee for a consultation with Sarah. There is no obligation to retain the firm afterward. The meeting is used to discuss your circumstances, explain relevant planning options, and determine whether the firm and proposed scope are a good fit.

Yes. Estate plans are quoted as flat fees, agreed in writing before any work begins. You’ll know exactly what your plan costs , no hourly billing, no surprise invoices.

The fee depends on the complexity of your situation and the documents you need. We’ll discuss it openly at the consultation.
